Site preparation got underway today and will include demolition of the existing buildings and the removal of one mature tree.
The location of the building and the need to remove the tree was decided in conjunction with members from the Tumbarumba Showground user groups. As part of the project two advanced trees will be planted in late autumn.

It’s all systems go building the new amenities building for the showgrounds; here’s a sneak peek of the building being prefabricated off-site, delivery is expected in the coming weeks.
The new building will provide more toilets, plus male and female change rooms. The addition of the female change room will be a welcome improvement for visitors attending major events at the showgrounds.

Upgrade works at the Tumbarumba Showgrounds are progressing well and we recently enjoyed another productive on-site meeting with the showground's local user groups.
We will be shutting the gates today to ensure the playing surface is not disturbed before we start laying turf next week (weather permitting).

Snowy Valleys Council is seeking tenders for the design and construction of multiple buildings to be installed at a range of locations across the region.
The projects include a new amenities buildings at the Tumbarumba Showgrounds.
The new amenities building at the Tumbarumba Showground will include change rooms, storerooms, a first-aid room and externally accessed toilets.
Tender applications close on the 9th of August 2019.

Representatives from Tumbarumba Showground user groups recently met with Council’s project managers and agreed to move forward quickly on the planned major redevelopment of the facility.
Ten representatives from Tumbarumba Rodeo, Zone 20 Pony Club, Tumbarumba PA&H Society, Tumbarumba Batlow Rugby League Football Club and Tumbarumba Batlow Minor League were invited to view the concept plan for the proposed upgrade of the Tumbarumba Showground playing surface, irrigation and facilities.

Two options are being explored:
1. Development and construction of new amenities and grandstand plus the reconstruction of the playing surface or
2. Refurbishment and upgrade of existing amenities and grandstand plus the reconstruction of the playing surface
Both options are currently being discussed and cost estimates progressed.
