RENOTIFIED

In accordance with Section 47 of the Local Government Act 1993, Snowy Valleys Council proposes to lease part of the land at King George's Park, Tumbarumba to Tumbarumba Start Strong Pre-School Incorporated.

The purpose of the proposed lease is to allow Tumbarumba Start Strong Pre-School Incorporated to construct a new preschool facility and operate a preschool and early childhood educational facility on the land. The educational childcare facility will accommodate up to 40 children aged between 3 to 5 years.

The proposed lease is for a term of 21 years and is for the land known as King Georges Park, 97 King Street, Tumbarumba comprising land within Lots 17 and 18 of Section 9 in Deposited Plan 759003, managed by Snowy Valleys Council as community land.

It is proposed that part of the land within Lots 17and 18 will be used to construct and operate an educational childcare facility. It is intended that the 'Shared Community Space' as identified within the plan, will be made available for public use outside of operational hours of Tumbarumba Start Strong Pre-School Incorporated.

Interested persons are invited to make a submission concerning the proposed lease by using the feedback form below

Submissions close at 5pm on Friday 24 May 2024

Please note that under the provisions of the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009, such submissions may be referred to third parties for consideration.

Once the submission period is completed, Council will consider all submissions before deciding whether to continue with the lease proposal.

PLEASE NOTE:

1. This notice is supplementary to Council’s previous notice of the proposed lease issued pursuant to the Local Government Act 1993 in December 2022 and 9 April 2024. All submissions received in response to the earlier notice of the proposed lease and any additional submissions submitted in response to this supplementary notice will be taken into consideration when assessing the merits of proceeding with the proposed lease.

2. This notice is separate and distinct from prior notification relating to the development of the land pursuant to development application No 2023/0155 which has been dealt with according to the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979.
