Design Finalised and Submitted for Approval

Following the appointment of Rigore Engineering Services in December 2024 to undertake the road survey and detailed design, Council has been working closely with the project team to progress the next stage of planning.

While some delays were experienced during the development of the detailed designs, all design work has now been finalised. The complete package, along with all required supporting documentation, has been submitted to the Federal Government for assessment and approval.

Subject to this approval, construction is now expected to commence in September 2026.

This is a complex, multi-million-dollar project involving multiple approval authorities and key stakeholders. We appreciate the community’s continued patience and understanding as the project progresses.
