Adelong Playground Equipment Upgrade

Background
Funding of $100,000 was allocated from the NSW Government’s Stronger Communities Fund (Round 2) for the construction of an adventure playground for Adelong.
The Project
Located in the gently sloping greenspace adjacent to Adelong Aquatic Centre, the new adventure equipment will position Memorial Park as an engaging and playful place that attracts locals and visitors.
Comprising of a rope play structure with a tube slide, the adventure playground equipment is designed to enable children of all ages to learn through play, offering maximum challenge and fun, while playing safely. Children can test and develop their agility and strength while they climb, balance and slide.
Soft-fall material will be installed under and around the new equipment in accordance with Australian Standards.
This project is scheduled for completion by 30 June 2020.

New swings were installed at Memorial Park this week completing the $100,000 upgrade.
The basket swing, two toddler swings and two standard seat swings complement the rope play structure and slide that was installed in December last year.
Children of all ages can now enjoy the fantastic new equipment whilst they swing, slide, climb, balance and laugh around the park.

Site work kicked off this week in preparation for the installation of the new adventure playground. The new site was decided in conjunction with community members at the Adelong Progress Association meeting on Wednesday 20 November 2019.
The Adelong community and many other families will be able to enjoy the wonderful new facilities due to be completed before Christmas.
