Rail Removal Trial
Approximately 200m of rail and sleepers were successfully removed from a section of the rail trail as part of a trial run to see what removal processes were practical and efficient.
An air-compressor driven rattle gun was used to remove some heavily rusted and corroded nuts and bolts holding the lines together, and an excavator with grab attachment was the successful method used to remove the rails.
