Upgrades Officially Recognised

17 February 2021

On the 20 April 1961 Tumbarumba residents got behind the Council’s project for a swimming pool and turned out for the first working bee. The pool opened a year later and on Friday 12 February 2021, the recent upgrades were officially recognised.

Mayor James Hayes was joined by Member for Albury Justin Clancy MP, Deputy PM Michael McCormack MP, Member for Eden-Monaro Kristy McBain for the unveiling of a commemorative plaque and cake cutting ceremony.

During the pool’s 60 year life hundreds of children have learnt-to-swim in Tumbarumba and the new facilities provide a fantastic opportunity for many more to gain a skill for life.
