Background

Funding of $350,000 was allocated from the second round of the NSW Government’s Stronger Country Community Fund for construction of a walking path from the township of Talbingo to the Snowy Mountains Track.

The Project

The 2.55 kilometre off-road pathway starts at the Talbingo Country Club on Bridle Street and follows along the southern side of Miles Franklin Drive to the intersection at the Snowy Mountains Highway.

The walking path caters for both walkers and cyclists and is a valuable recreational asset enjoyed by Talbingo locals and visitors. Construction was completed in December 2020.

    The Talbingo Walking path is signed, sealed and delivered!

    The track is ready for walkers, bike riders, prams, scooters and all to enjoy.

    No doubt the influx of summer visitors will enjoy the 2.55 kilometre track and give it a good work out over he holiday period.

    Kerb rollovers, also know as pram ramps have been installed at several locations along the Talbingo Pathway to enable better access to for mobility devices.

    Concrete was poured today and they will be open for use by the end of the week.

    Take care and enjoy the peaceful, picturesque walkway.

    Sealing of the new pathway in Talbingo is underway today. Once the new seal has had time to settle the pathway will be swept to remove the loose stones.

    Not long now before Talbingo residents and visitors can enjoy the a stroll along the banks of Jounama Pondage.

    Work on the Talbingo pathway is really taking shape, construction and clearing of the 2.55 kilometre track is progressing well.

    Sealing works are scheduled for next month and the track should be finished in time for our summer holiday visitors!
