Council is seeking public submissions on a proposed Road name for the Internal Road Walkway at Tumbarumba Cemetery

Snowy Valleys Council has received a proposal to rename the internal road / walkway at Tumbarumba Cemetery as the Ivan Lyon Walkway in recognition of the late Mr. Lyon’s long service in the Tumbarumba region as funeral director and active community member.

The proposed walkway would provide a suitable and appropriate tribute to Ivan Lyons for his dedication to the region and is supported by his family.

Council had previously proposed to the Geographic Names Board (GNB) for Cemetery Road at Tumbarumba to be renamed Lyons Road, however due to naming rules this was not supported.
