Consultation has concluded. Thank you to everyone who provided feedback, it will be considered in the final document
The adoption of the draft SVC Liquid Trade Waste Policy will allow Council to effectively regulate wastewater and trade waste dischargers in accordance with the NSW Framework for Regulation of Liquid Trade Waste and best practice management of Water Supply and Wastewater Guidelines.
It sets out to ensure adequate wastewater services are provided to the community; that appropriate measures and controls for wastewater discharged to the reticulation networks are in place to minimise any potential impact of the treated wastewater effluent on the receiving environment; that Council can provide wastewater services to as many areas of our community as possible at an appropriate, fair and equitable cost; and that Council provides and regulates appropriate wastewater systems in line with best practice management.
This draft Policy is a harmonisation of two previous policies from the old Shires of Tumut and Tumbarumba.
