Draft Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan 2026-2028

The Draft Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan 2026-2028 (Innovate RAP) has been developed to assist Council to continuously develop and strengthen reconciliation commitments with the First Nations Peoples. The RAP is a commitment by Council to address the gaps of acknowledgement, learning and understanding of First Nations histories and cultures to make a genuine contribution to reconciliation through our business and activities.

Our Innovate RAP outlines actions for achieving our vision for reconciliation. Council’s values of Safety, Integrity and Respect are integral in the success of our vision. These commitments within the Innovate RAP will allow us to gain a deeper understanding of our circle of influence and determine the best approaches to advance reconciliation.

Strengthened relationships and piloting strategies for further reconciliation commitments will result in benefits to our communities.

We thank the Ngurambang Bila Koori and Tumbarumba Aboriginal Torres Strait Islander Liaison Committees for their valuable input, consideration and feedback.

Council acknowledges that, as an organisation, we must continue to strive to improve our knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples represented across the Snowy Valleys Local Government Area and strengthen our efforts to recognise and respect the significant contribution and enduring connection of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in Australia.
