Update: December 2018
Creek Walkway
· For reasons of efficiency and completeness, work is proceeding on resolving a private property matter related to the location of the pathway so that the entire pathway may be constructed as a single build.
· The ecological aspects of the project are also very important and to ensure that these are appropriately managed consultation is also underway regarding approvals that may be required from the NSW Department of Primary Industries concerning working within close proximity to the creek.
· Proposed construction for the path includes a sealed, all weather accessible walkway suitable for all users.
· The pathway will be reinstated with a gravel base topped and a two part spray seal to the same standard used to construct other pathways throughout the Council area. This substrate has proven successful in providing a low maintenance, long lasting surface suitable for all users including pedestrians, prams, wheelchairs and bikes.
· It is intended that the construction of the pathway will be progressed as a matter of priority in early 2019.
Masterplan
Preparation of a masterplan for the overall Creekscape project will be developed in early 2019.
The information gathered from the various community meetings will inform the scope for consideration in developing the masterplan. This includes but is not limited to the key community priorities of:
· Necessary infrastructure and promotions to attract and retain competitive tourist visitation
· Promote the natural environment,
· Accessibility
· Interpretive sign strategy
· Amphitheatre at Golden Gully Park
· Keep improving the Creekscape
Council thanks all Adelong community members for their enthusiasm for this project and their patience as we work to deliver a plan and construction that will serve Adelong for years to come.
